Happenings in and around Rippey

The Rippey Lions Club gathered for its Christmas potluck meal on Dec. 4. They enjoyed a delicious meal and had a rollicking good time singing Christmas carols led by Dick Bardole and Midge Vannatta. Planning was started for the roast beef sundaes and other items for the BRR Ride on Feb. 7. Plans will be completed at upcoming meetings. The group will not meet Dec. 18 or Jan. 1. The next regular meeting will be Jan. 16.  A Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all from the Rippey Lions Club.  ~Nancy Hanaman, reporter

Dale and Nancy Hanaman travelled to Wisconsin over Thanksgiving to spend time with their son Matthew Hanaman and Adrianna and Adyara in Rice Lake. The next day they journeyed to Superior, WI, to visit Sarah and Benji Pearson, Steven, Elizabeth and Andrea. On Nov. 29, they celebrated Andrea’s 8th birthday. On their return trip, they braved the crowds at the Mall of America to do some Christmas shopping.

Phil and Toni Roberts, along with Virgene Morse, accompanied Jean Borgeson as they attended the performance of Sweet Harmony at Perry on Sunday afternoon. The group includes  Pastor Deb Parkison, along with her sister Pam Koso,  daughter Jessica Parkison and Gail Wallin, a long time friend.  Mother and grandmother,  Barb Parkison, was in attendance also, and many Rippey people were part of the audience enjoying the performance of Christmas music.  Deb was pastor at the Perry, Fairview, and Rippey United Methodist Churches several years ago. She is now serving at Our Savior United Methodist Church in Manson, where she and Barb live.
