The Churdan Lions Club has invited Santa to the Churdan public library on Saturday, Dec. 13 and 20 to hear requests and to have his picture taken with children of all ages. Santa will arrive at 12:30 pm. The annual Lion’s Club Christmas drawing will begin around 1 pm each Saturday. Anyone wishing to register for the drawing can do so at the library or at United Bank of Iowa until the Friday before each drawing. Residents can still register on Saturday at the library.
The library will host an open house both Saturdays beginning at 9 am. The library is conducting a silent auction fundraiser. There is also a contest for the ugliest Christmas sweater. The winners will be announced at the Christmas drawing Dec. 13.
The library will sponsor an “All Things Frozen” party on Wednesday, Dec. 10, for children of all ages. The party will be from 2 to 4 pm at the Martin House in Churdan. (For directions call the library at 515-389-3423.) A variety of “Frozen” activities will take place during the party. Children will have an opportunity to check out a mystery bag of books to take home.
The library will show a holiday movie on Wednesday, Dec. 17. The children will be able to check out books when they arrive. The movie will begin around 2:30 pm. Adults are welcome to attend.
