The Greene County wresting team opened its season with a non-conference dual meet at home vs Van Meter and Ogden Tuesday evening. The Rams topped Van Meter 60-17 but then lost to Ogden 46-26.
Ram senior Jordan Challen took a forfeit at 145 lbs vs Van Meter and won a major decision 15-5 vs Ogden at 138 lbs for his 99th and 100th career win.
Other Rams who were 2-0 on the night were freshman Kane Brogeson at 106 lbs, senior Abe Yoder at 132, junior Tommy Bradshaw at 145 and sophomore Isaiah Yoder at 160.
The Rams won four and lost one by forfeit against Van Meter; neither team had wrestlers at 113 or 285 lbs. The Rams forfeited three matches to Ogden, and again, there was no match at 113 lbs.
