Grand Junction residents and all area residents are invited to Jingle and Mingle in Junction this Sunday, Dec. 7. The Community Center committee and Horizons have teamed up to plan a day that is sure to create lasting memories.
The Community Center committee will host a bus Tour of Lights to see the Christmas displays at Swan Lake and a particularly special display at a farm near Carroll where lights are coordinated with music. Two times are set. The first tour from 4 to 6 pm will be a family-centered alcohol-free tour. For the second tour, from 6 to 8 pm, adults are invited to bring their own beverages.
The cost is $20 per adult and $10 for children ages 5-12. There is no charge for children younger than 5. The tour is limited to 25 persons each run. Reservations should be made by Dec. 5 by calling Diane at 515-370-1675 or Joan at 515-370-2613. Thanks to sponsorship by Diamond Oil and Mike Ross, all proceeds will go to the Community Center building fund. The tour begins and ends at the east door of Greene County Intermediate School (formerly East Greene school).
“We encourage people to join us for this fun bus tour to view the lights in Swan Lake and at a farm near Carroll where the lights coordinate with music. Music, cookies and beverage will be provided to make this a holiday tour to remember,” said organizer Diane Wise. “Make it a family event, an office party, or a time for yourself. All money benefits the new Grand Junction Community Center in a fun new way. This is not just for Grand Junction residents – all are welcome.”
Horizons will serve a soup supper in the school cafeteria from 4:30 to 7 pm for those. Along with the meal, there will be a silent auction and entertainment by Off the Track Players. Silent auction items can be seen before Sunday at Peoples Trust & Savings Bank in Grand Junction.
Proceeds from the soup supper and silent auction will be used by Horizons for community betterment projects.
