The holiday season is full of waiting and peeking, and the Jefferson Garden Club is offering a few sneak peeks at what awaits on the 2014 “Christmas Splendor” Tour of Homes.
The Jefferson Garden Club’s 2014 Tour of Homes will offer a variety of homes ranging from early 1900 Arts and Crafts to the 1970 ranch.
Four homes on the tour will be decorated for the holidays and open to the public Saturday, Dec. 6, from noon to 5 pm.
An upstairs bathroom is luxuriously decorated in silver and crystal in the 1920 American Foursquare home of Danelle (pictured) and Todd Mason on W. Madison St.
Jean Gliem (right) decorates her newer home on Riverside Drive with favorite pieces, like stuffed bears made of her mother’s fur coats. Gliem and her bears are pictured with Garden Club member Sue Lucht.
Katie Richardson decorates her dining room to blend with the burgundy décor. Her table is set with heirloom Furstenberg china that blends in the color scheme of the room. Katie and Guy Richardson’s home is located on S. Chestnut St. It is the oldest home on the tour, having been built in 1912.
The fourth home on the tour is the 1917 home of Curt and Rhonda Nelson, also on S. Chestnut St. Watch for a preview of that historic home next week.
Tickets are for the tour available from Garden Club members, and at Home State Bank, Peoples Trust & Savings Bank (Jefferson) and The Printer’s Box. On the day of the tour, tickets may be purchased only at The Printer’s Box and in the Greene County courthouse rotunda, where the club will provide refreshments and display holiday table settings.
