Activities at the showroom and at local libraries
Jefferson Telecom plans to welcome back “Telly,” the Elf on the Shelf® to the showroom s Nov. 28 through Dec. 24. The Elf on the Shelf story written by Carol V. Aebersold and Chandra A. Bell has become a popular holiday classic. The Elf on the Shelf is a special scout elf sent from the North Pole to help Santa Claus manage his naughty and nice lists.
Each day, the elf returns to the Jefferson Telecom showroom in a different place to watch the children and reports back to Santa at night. Area children are encouraged to visit the showroom often. Each child that finds Telly can put his or her name into a weekly drawing for Chamber Bucks. To participate, the child should be under 14 years old. Drawings will be held on Dec. 4, 11, 18, and 24.
Jefferson Telecom has partnered with area public libraries to read the Elf on the Shelf story during story hour and participate in a craft activity. The upcoming dates are Tuesday, Nov. 25, at 4 pm at Jefferson public library; Wednesday, Nov. 26, at 3:30 pm at the Scranton public library; and Thursday, Dec. 4 at 4 pm at the Paton public library at 4pm. The program has already been completed in Grand Junction and Churdan. A special reading is set for Friday, Nov. 28, at 10 am and at 1 pm at Jefferson Telecom, with the Elf on the Shelf, An Elf’s Story movie to be shown at both times plus a snack and craft activities.
Mary Jo Koch, Jefferson Telecom customer service representative, organized the events last year, and plans to assist again this year. Koch said, “We look forward to having Telly re-appear this year as he helps to spread the holiday magic with the children. We hope that parents will join in the fun by bringing their children to one of the story hours and to the showroom throughout the holidays.”
