Reminder: Complete a library user survey

Use the link to complete survey online

Jeff library exteriorAll residents in the Jefferson public library’s service area are reminded that Nov. 20 is the last day to complete the library’s user survey. The library is seeking input from the community about how area residents use and wish to use the library and its services. Survey participants need not have a library card.

The survey provides area residents with a unique opportunity to be heard on key topics including how and why they use the library, how satisfied they are with collections and services, how well library spaces suit their needs and how they rate the library’s implementation of new technology. The library staff and trustees will use the results of the survey to develop a strategic plan for library collections, spaces, services and programs.

The survey is an important part of the process of developing a blueprint for the next five to 10 years for the Library. “We want to make sure we are providing the resources and programs that meet the needs and expectations of our users now and in the future,” library director Jane Millard said.

The survey consists of 22 questions, designed to take about 10 minutes to complete and will be available at several locations. A short version of the survey is also available online on the library’s website at www.jefferson.lib.ia.us. The online survey can be completed in less than five minutes.

A printed copy of the survey will be available at the library. “You may take it home to fill out and return on your next visit to the library or put it in the book return,” said Millard.

“Thank you for taking the time to fill out a survey for the library. This is your library, and your input is important,” said Millard.
