The Greene County volleyball team will be represented at the semi-finals of the state volleyball tournament in Cedar Rapids Thursday by the Rams’ singing volleyball players.
Volleyball players Annie Palmer, Mollie Sorber, Hannah Promes, Nadia Fisher and Kenna Marquardt sang the National Anthem to start home volleyball matches. Choir director Dave Heupel said that when he was contacted by staff at the Iowa High School Girls Athletic Union about singing for the volleyball tournament, he knew exactly who to ask.
Greene County ensembles have sung the National Anthem for state basketball tournaments and state track and field meets in previous years. Students also frequently sing the National Anthem for community events.
