The Greene County Historical Society meeting and program scheduled for Friday, Nov. 7, at the United Methodist Church in Scranton will instead be held in Jefferson at the Historical Museum, 219 E. Lincoln Way. A funeral and luncheon now scheduled at the Scranton church made it necessary to move the Historical Society event to another location.
A soup lunch for the historical group and guests will be held Friday at 12 noon at the museum, at a cost of $5 per person. Reservations must be made with the Society’s community contacts by Wednesday, Nov. 5.
The program at 1 pm Friday at the museum will be free and open to the public. Karen Pound of Jefferson will be presenting “Silent Cities,” drawn from her study of cemeteries over the years.
