The annual trick-or-treat triple crown in Jefferson was Thursday before the weather turned cold, and hundreds of youngsters and their parents enjoyed activities planned by the Jefferson park and recreation department, the Greene County Chamber, and the Jefferson public library.
The fun began with come-and-go activities at the Greene County Community Center. Pumpkin bowling, pumpkin fishing, and “Pin the Tail on the Black Cat” were among the activities available. All participants received goody bags with coupons, and candy prizes were abundant.
The Greene County High School Interact Club provided valuable assistance.

Trick or Treat Around the Square drew an enthusiastic crowd as businesses around the courthouse square were joined by others to make sure all the youngsters had heavy loads of candy to tote. The event is organized by the Greene County Chamber.
At the library staff and members of the board of trustees and the Friends of the Library pulled out all the stops, presenting as a play Mo Willem’s book “That is NOT a Good Idea!” Large cue cards allowed young and old to read along with the story.
