The Rams scored the first point in a class 3A Region 4 quarterfinal volleyball match in Nevada Monday. That was the only lead they held for the rest of the evening. The fifth ranked Nevada Cubs beat the Rams in three sets, with scores 18-25, 8-25, 21-25.
The loss ended the season for the Rams with an overall record of 13-18, 40-48 in sets.
The Rams played tough against the Cubs. In the first set they were down 15-21 but brought the score to 18-21 before Nevada scored the final four points. The Rams also narrowed a gap in the third set, coming back from 15-22 to 21-24 before the Cubs scored the last point.
Next year will be a rebuilding season for varsity coach Donna Carhill. This year’s team had 11 seniors. Sophomore Nadia Fisher will be the only player on the 2015 team with significant varsity playing time.
