A volleyball game between the Rams and the Perry Jayettes went down the very last serve, just as the football game a week earlier had gone right down to the last play. If both sports, it was a missed attempt to tie the game that left some fans disappointed.
The volleyball went to five sets. The teams alternated set wins, with scores 25-22 (Jayette win), 21-25, 25-22, 20-25 in the first four. In the fifth set, Perry led 13-8 and 14-11, but the Rams shortened the gap to 13-14. With the Rams serving for the tie, the Perry coach approached the floor official for a time out, which the official seemed to grant. But, the chair official had whistled the ball ready for play. The serve went into the net, which gave the set and game winning point to Perry for a score of 15-13.
The Rams finished their regular season at 13-17. The open regional play in Nevada next Monday against the Class 3A fifth rated Nevada Cubs.
