The “Investing in Tomorrow’s Care” capital campaign at Greene County Medical Center has reached $3 million, or 75 percent of the original $4 million goal, announced medical center Foundation director Hollie Roberts on Tuesday.
Since February, Roberts has been working with Justin Tolan, chief fundraising advisor for the consulting firm Amperage (formerly ME & V), and a capital campaign steering committee made up of community members to raise awareness and funds for the capital campaign. John Gerken and Rick Morain are co-chairs of the committee.
“The response to our campaign has been most gratifying,” said Gerken. “We have received support from longtime residents grateful for the fine medical service they have received over the years. We have pledges from persons new to the area, excited about the wonderful expansion and renovation underway at the medical center. And businesses have stepped forward, mindful of the importance of health care to their employees.”
Jefferson Telecom, Home State Bank, West Central and Midland Power join other donors, including a large pledge from medical center employees, in supporting the medical center’s expansion and renovation project.
“We are so grateful to the people of Greene County for helping the ‘Investing in Tomorrow’s Care’ capital campaign reach the 75 percent benchmark,” said Roberts. “Our donors, steering committee, volunteers and employees are all helping to make it a reality. Health care in Greene County is a cause people embrace and take ownership in. When that type of commitment occurs, great things happen.”
Gifts to the “Investing in Tomorrow’s Care” capital campaign can take many forms: cash, bequests, real estate or grain donations, to name a few. Pledges are encouraged and can be extended over a period of up to five years. Gifts to the campaign may also be a way to honor or memorialize a loved one.
