Town and Country Band in recruiting mode

The Town and Country band is recruiting new members. The band is in particular need of low brass players and percussionists, but all musicians of all ages are welcome.

Band members range in age from high school to many years past retirement. They come from most parts of the county (and beyond) and have very different backgrounds and skill levels. “What we all share is our love for music,” said Peg Semke, who is on the band’s organizational committee.

The band is rehearsing Monday evenings at the Paton-Churdan school. The band will perform a Christmas concert on a day yet to be determined, and then take a winter hiatus. They’ll take their instruments out again in the spring and prepare for Memorial Day performances and other gigs around the county.

Persons who would like more information can email Semke at mesemke@hotmail.com. Drop-ins are always welcome, but advance notice of new members will assure that the right music parts are available.
