In Greene County district court Beth Renee Perdue, 29, of Jefferson was sentenced Oct. 6 to two years in prison after she pleaded guilty to a charge of driving while license barred. The prison term was suspended and she was placed on probation for two years. She was fined $625 with a $218.75 surcharge. Perdue must also pay $100 court costs and $60 restitution for her court appointed attorney’s fees. (Sentencing: Honorable Adria A. Kester)
Persons pleaded not guilt at arraignment as follows: Richard Charles Burkhardt, 45, of Jefferson, public intoxication-third or subsequent offense; Stacia M. Day, 26, of Grand Junction, operating while intoxicated (OWI)-first offense and child endangerment; Seth Michael Butler, 25, of Scranton, assault causing bodily injury; Kimberly Ann Mustang, 35, of Des Moines, domestic abuse assault-aggravated, false imprisonment, and harassment-aggravated misdemeanor; and Jesse Kenneth J. Summerfield, 31, of Churdan, driving while license barred and child endangerment. Trial dates were set for Dec. 16 in every case.
Cases were initiated in district court during the week that ended Oct. 10 as follows: Carlan Christopher James Brown, 21, of Jefferson, assault with intent to inflict serious injury; Larry Lee Warren Varnell, 21, of Churdan, driving while license barred and providing alcohol to person under age; Tauwana Rae Laue, 36, of Grand Junction, false report to public entity; and Hayley Lynn Brown, 21, of Jefferson, unlawful use of credit card (81 counts).
