Once again, brassieres are celebrated as works or art, or at least as the foundation of a craft project, in the outpatient lobby at Greene County Medical Center.
To help promote October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and to promote mammograms, the medical center’s radiology department invited other departments to push up bras to places where no bras have gone before.
One offering by the radiology department salutes Thing 1 and Thing 2 from Dr Seuss’ The Cat in the Hat and also reminds women to love their rack. 21st Century Rehab uses the ultimate wonder cup, hard hats, with a message to “avoid reconstruction with early detection.” Even the information technology (IT) department joined in, encouraging people to control, alt, delete breast cancer.
Visitors are welcome to vote for their favorite model at the display in the outpatient lobby. Voting will conclude at the end of the week.
And if humor doesn’t work, the radiology folks are ready to try bribery to get people to come in for mammograms in October. The pay-off for the “big squeeze”…. a rose. If you won’t do it for Thing 1 and Thing 2, do it for the rose.
