Reminder issued about placement of yard signs

City of Jefferson code enforcement officer Tom Heater released the following information earlier this week:

“Due to several recent complaints, city of Jefferson property owners are reminded that any signs they place on their property, such as realty signs, political signs, roof or siding repair signs, etc. may only be placed on private property and not on the public right-of-way. This generally means behind the sidewalks and lot lines of all property.

“Signs placed in right-of-way areas may be removed without notice by public officials.”
