Greene County district court, week ending Sept. 26

In Greene County district court Brock Brent Stoner, 25, of Jefferson was granted a deferred judgment after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of operating while intoxicated (OWI)-first offense. He must pay a civil penalty of $1,250; one half of the penalty will be waived if he obtains a temporary restricted driver’s license. He will be on informal probation for one year. He must complete a drinking drivers school and any recommendations made after a substance abuse evaluation. Court costs were $100. (Sentencing: Honorable Adrea A Kester)

A judgment was entered against Jamie Ray Biggart, 39, of Scranton after he pleaded guilty to a charge of assault-simple, amended from assault causing bodily injury. He was fined $100 with a $35 surcharge. Biggart must also pay $90 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees and $100 court costs. (Sentencing: Kester)

Persons pleaded not guilty at arraignments as follows: Matthew James Kilts, 32, of Perry, possession of marijuana; Michael David Teeples, 21, of Jefferson, possession of marijuana; and Jameson Todd Ross, 22, of Runnels, assault while displaying a dangerous weapon and carrying weapons while intoxicated. A trial date was set for Nov. 4 for Teeples and for Dec. 16 for Kilts and Ross.

Information is available since the return of an arrest warrant that Hayley Lynn Brown, 21, of Jefferson has been charged with burglary-third degree, forgery (two counts), identity theft, unlawful use of credit card (14 counts), and ongoing criminal conduct. The warrant was issued Aug. 26 and returned Sept. 19.

A case was initiated against Joshua Harold Gingery, 30, of Slater on a charge of OWI-first offense.
