Greene County Medical Center’s disaster preparedness team members presented automatic external defibrilators (AEDs) to community partners in early September. Funding, in the amount of $6,335, was provided by the medical center’s Emergency Preparedness grant funds through Homeland Security and Iowa Department of Public Health’s (IDPH) Centers for Disaster Operations (CDOR).

The Ram cheerleaders had extra help Friday night, as the squad partnered with the Jefferson park and recreation department for mini cheerleading. All youngsters in prekindergarten through fifth grade were invited to participate.

Elks Lodge 2306 of Jefferson served 140 local heroes at its third annual Patriot’s Day Heroes Dinner. Honored guests were active duty military personnel, military veterans, law enforcement officers, volunteer firemen and emergency medical personnel. The Elks were assisted in the kitchen by the Does.
