An ISU Extension and Outreach financial management course will begin in early October for individuals and couples interested in taking charge of their money. Wednesday, Oct. 1, is the requested deadline for reservations. After that day, registrations will be accepted only if space is available.
Session topics include financial basics (setting financial goals and planning your spending), insurance basics, investing basics (stocks, bonds, mutual funds), retirement realities, and when life changes (wills, estate planning, trusts, divorce, widowhood, marriage, remarriage).
Registration costs is $30 per participant or $40 for a couple. The fee includes the 192-page workbook and all handouts (couples will share materials). A light meal will also be served at the first session. The fees for service will be used to off-set direct expenses to support the Greene County Families Extension program.
The cost of the class is reduced from the usual $75 per person thanks to several local sponsors, including Community State Bank, Edward Jones, Home State Bank, Peoples Trust and Savings Banks, Wells Fargo Bank, and Greene County Extension.
