In Greene County district court Derek Ryan DeMoss, 27, of Jefferson was sentenced Sept. 12 to two days in jail on a charge operating while intoxicated (OWO)-first offense. The jail time is concurrent to a sentence on a previous case in which he was charged with assault. DeMoss must comply with treatment recommendations from a substance abuse evaluation he had already undergone. He must also complete a drinking drivers class. He was fined $1,250 with a $437.50 surcharge and a $10 surcharge for drug abuse resistance education (DARE). He must pay $60 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees and $140 court costs. Austin Jeffrey Smith, 19, of Jefferson was sentenced Sept. 12 after changing his plea to guilty to a charge of OWI-first offense. He was sentenced to two days in jail and must pay a sheriff’s fee for that time. He must comply with treatment recommendations from a substance abuse evaluation he has already undergone, and he must complete a drinking drivers class. Persons pleaded not guilty as follows: Jared Dean Dennhardt, 25, of Jefferson, assault causing bodily injury; William Warren Lawrence, 43, of Jefferson, public intoxication-third or subsequent offence; Nickalos Andrew Brown, 23, of Jefferson, driving while license revoked; Donald George Sayre, 58, of Jefferson, OWI-third offense; and Danny Lee Cannon, 57, of Perry, OWI-second offense. Trial dates were set for Nov. 4 for Dennhardt, Lawrence and Brown, and for Oct. 24 for Sayre and Cannon.
A case was initiated against Richard Dean Tuhn Jr, 35, of Grand Junction on charges of burglary-first degree, burglary-second degree, and domestic abuse.
