Iowa author Miyoko Hikiji will read from her memoir All I Could Be: My Story as a Woman Warrior in Iraq on Thursday, Sept. 11, at 2 pm at St. Patrick Church in Cedar Township, north of Churdan.
Hikiji, of Cedar Rapids, served in Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003 and was sent on more than 70 missions. She will sign books at the church afterward and also at a free veterans memorial supper at 5:30 pm in Lohrville at the community building. The supper honors those who died in the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.
