Sam Clovis, the veteran and teacher running for state treasurer, visited Jefferson Sept. 2 and met with Kristi Holz, Republican candidate for county treasurer.
“I have traveled this state for over a year and met many people seeking office. I have seen people that are running for power and attention and also those who have an inherent desire to serve and improve Iowa. Kristi is one of those selfless folks,” said Clovis. “She has the right experience and convictions to serve Greene County. She is a Christian with a good plan and priorities to take over the office in Jefferson.”
“Her focus on transparency and automation will enable the community to adapt to the forthcoming changes in the local economy. The casino is going to change the dynamics of the public finances and taxes in the county. It is important to have a conservative with the aptitude and leadership to ensure Greene County can efficiently adapt to the changes,” Clovis said.
After a second place finish in the US Senate race, Sam Clovis’ supporters rallied behind the straight-talking conservative to run for state treasurer. Governor Branstad and Lt. Gov Reynolds expressed their support for the retired Air Force colonel and Sioux City college professor.
