This past year the Greene County FFA chapter received two grants. One of these was from Alliant Energy. This grant was for $1,400 and will be used to update some of our facilities, primarily the aquaculture lab, which is in need of updated equipment. Another project we will be taking on is building a new greenhouse.
The other grant we acquired was for $10,000 and came from Monsanto. We are very excited about building our new facility and we would appreciate any help that we could get. Anyone that would be interested in helping up with our projects is encouraged to contact the school for more information.
In addition to our new projects, we will also be involved in some fall events. One of these is the Deal’s Orchard Fall Festival. We will have an FFA petting zoo there for both days of the festival. We will also be beginning our annual fruit sales near the end or October, so anyone who would like to buy some fruit, meat or cheese to help support our chapter should contact an FFA member or Cortney Schmidt when the sale starts.
