The question of an 8,150 square-foot area on the west side of the new Hy-Vee grocery store labeled “clinic” on the most recent site plan is still unanswered. With the termination of McFarland Clinic Jefferson’s lease at Greene County Medical Center effective next May, area residents are watching to see where that clinic might relocate.
Lori Subbert has recently come to Jefferson as manager of the new store. She spoke at the town hall meeting Monday at the Greene County Community Center. “They’re working on the floor plan as we speak. There are some changes going on, ones that I don’t really know about…. What I can tell you is that it’s going to be a phenomenal store,” she said.
McFarland Clinic public relations Shelley Goecke declined to comment on any involvement with Hy-Vee. “McFarland Clinic physicians are committed to practicing in Jefferson and providing continuity of care in a new clinic location starting summer 2015,” Goecke said Tuesday in a prepared statement. “Locations are currently being reviewed. Once plans have been finalized patients and the community at large will be notified.”
