As of Sunday, the weather forecast calls for a high temperature of only 78 degrees on Thursday, but organizers are promising a Hot August Night around the square in Jefferson.
The Hot August Night Car, Motorcycle and Truck Show is slated for 5 to 8 pm. Last year’s event drew 250 exhibitors and an estimated 1,200 spectators! From vintage hot rods to Ford station wagons from the 1960s, from dolled up pickup trucks to antique tractors, there will be something to catch anyone’s eye.
Greene County Chamber and the Jefferson Kiwanis Club are partnering to serve supper (for a charge), and Fareway will give away watermelon while supplies last.
To extend the evening into night, the 1978 movie classic Grease with John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John will be shown at the Sierra Community Theatre at 8:15 pm. There’s no admission charge thanks to the generous sponsorship of Lisa Neilsen, CPA PC.
