A dinner and auction next Sunday will raise funds to benefit the parents of 6-month-old Tate Lawton, who has been hospitalized in Des Moines since March. Tate and his parents, Tanner and Amber (Bacon) Lawton of Jefferson, are awaiting Tate’s second surgery to correct a congenital heart defect that is part of his Down syndrome package. Funds will help cover medical/travel expenses.
Tate is the grandson of Tom and Cae Lawton of Jefferson and Les and Diane Bacon of Humboldt.
The day begins with a 4-person best ball golf tournament that is already filled.
All are invited, though, to the dinner and auction at Clover Hall at the Greene County Fairgrounds starting at 4:30 pm. A meal will be served (free will donation) and bids will be taken on silent auction items until the start of a live auction at 6:30. An event Facebook page includes many of the auction items, ranging from seed corn to quilts, with a lot of Cyclone (and a few Hawkeye) items and even a plane ride, too.
Anyone who would like to donate to either auction can contact Kristy Stoner at 515-370-1975, Billie Jo Hoskins at 515-370-5641, or Tiffany Lawton at 515-370-3071.
Donations will also be accepted at any Peoples Trust & Savings Bank location. Thrivent Financial for Lutherans is contributing.
