You never know what you’ll find at the Greene County farmers market!
Every week the market features great locally grown produce, hand made items, homemade baked goods, jams and jellies, homemade soap and detergent, and, of course, a great meal served by an area non-profit group.
Sometimes, there’s even live entertainment, from an unexpected source. Ken Paxton (pictured) is executive director of Greene County Development Corporation. He’s also a rock-n-roller from decades ago, and he still enjoys playing the piano and singing his favorites. He sings occasionally at retirement homes and care centers, and when he’s available on a Tuesday evening, he sets up in the shade and entertains at the farmers market. And, there’s no brandy snifter, no open guitar case, no hat. No tips, unless it’s a tip of a prospective employer who might want to come to Greene County.
The Greene County farmers market takes place Tuesdays from 4 to 6:30 pm on the east side of the courthouse in Jefferson.
