The Greene County Ram softball team was given a fire truck send-off when it left for a Class 3A state tournament game in Fort Dodge Monday afternoon. The team had an even more exuberant return to Jefferson that night after beating Center Point-Urbana 2-0  in a fast, no-nonsense game.

The Rams return to the Harlan Rogers Sports Complex in Fort Dodge Thursday to play third-rated Clarke (Osceola). Clarke was the runner-up to Bondurant-Farrar in the 2013 state tournament. B-F is also in the winners bracket and will play against East Marshall  (Le Grand) on Thursday.

The winners of the Greene County/Clarke game and the B-F/East Marshall game will play Friday at 2:30 pm for first and second place. The losing teams of the Thursday games will play Friday at 1:30 pm for third and fourth place.

The story of Monday’s game, with more great Ketelsen photos, is under the Sports tab.
