The Rams finished a week with four road trips with an 8-1 win Thursday evening in Lytton over the South Central Calhoun Titans. For the week, the Rams won two and lost two, bringing their season record to 10-14 with one more regular season game to play.
Riah Nelsen pitched all seven innings for the Rams. He struck out nine batters, walked one, hit one with a pitch, and allowed three hits. The Titans’ only score came in the first inning.
Nelsen also had a good night batting, as he hit his third home run of the season, a sacrifice fly, and two singles. The Rams had 12 hits all together. Alex Rasmussen hit a double and netted an RBI. Jordan Challen hit three singles and brought in a run, and Colton Fitzpatrick had two base hits and an RBI. Daric Whipple had two singles and Jordan Hostetler had a single.
The fifth inning started with a 1-1 tie but scored three runs in their turn at bat. They scored three more runs in the sixth inning and one in the seventh.
