In Greene County district court Alex Duncan Dankel, 20, of Scranton was granted a deferred judgment after he changed his plea to guilty on a charge of operating while intoxicated (OWI)-first offense. He must pay a $1,250 civil penalty and he must complete a community college drinking drivers course at his own expense. A charge of possession of marijuana was dismissed, as was a companion case in magistrate court in which Dankel was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Court costs were $100. Frederick James Lonsdale, 40, of Perry was sentenced to two years in prison after he pleaded guilty to a charge of operating a vehicle without the owner’s consent. The prison term is concurrent to terms in two other cases, but it was suspended and Lonsdale was placed on probation for two years. He is to reside at a residential correctional facility until he successfully completes the Department of Corrections program there. He was released until a bed is available. He must pay a $625 fine with a $218.75 surcharge and $495.78 victim restitution. He must also pay $240 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees and $120 court costs. (Sentencing: Kester)
Brandon Thomas Gobble, 28, of Jefferson was sentenced to two years in prison on a charge of driving while license barred. In related court actions, probation on two other charges of driving while license barred was revoked and the two year sentences were imposed. The prison terms are concurrent. He was fined $625 with a $218.75 surcharge.
In the same case, Gobble was sentenced to another two year prison term, concurrent, on a charge of possession of methamphetamine-second offense. He was fined $625 with a $218.75 surcharge, a $10 surcharge for drug abuse resistance education (DARE), and a $125 Law Enforcement Initiative surcharge. A charge of possession of marijuana was dismissed. A companion case in magistrate court in which he was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia was also dismissed. Richard Dean Tuhn Jr, 35, of Grand Junction was sentenced June 27 after he pleaded guilty to a charge of domestic abuse assault-second offense (aggravated misdemeanor), amended from domestic abuse assault (class D felony). He was sentenced to two years in prison; all but seven days was suspended. He was placed on probation for two years. A $625 fine with surcharge was suspended. Tuhn must pay $123.18 court costs and $60 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees. (Sentencing: Kester)
Estavan Espinnosa Jones, 22, of Grand Junction was sentenced after he pleaded guilty to a charge of criminal mischief-third degree, amended from criminal mischief-second degree, and OWI-second offense. On the criminal mischief charge, he was sentenced to seven days in jail. He was fined $625 with a $218.75 surcharge. He must pay $702.80 restitution to the Jefferson police department for damage done to a patrol vehicle. He was sentenced to seven days jail on the OWI charge, with the jail time concurrent. He must complete at his own expense a community college drinking drivers course and any treatment recommended at a substance abuse evaluation. He was fined $1,875 with a $656.25 surcharge and a $10 DARE surcharge. He must also pay $120 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees and $140 court costs. (Sentencing: Kester)
