The Greene County Fair is a proud supporter of youth organizations such as 4-H and FFA. The fair board is proud to offer opportunities such as contests and shows to hone and showcase these young members’ talents and interests in agriculture.
Judging of 4-H static (non-livestock) exhibits will start the fair Tuesday, July 8. Judging will start at 8:30 am at Clover Hall. Exhibits will be open to the public on Wednesday, July 9, from 1 to 7 pm, Thursday from 10 am to 7 pm, Friday from 10 am to 8 pm, Saturday from 9 am to 8 pm, an Sunday from noon to 4 pm. Exhibits will not be released until 4 pm.
4-H/FFA Dog Agility begins Tuesday at 6 pm at the bus barn for owners with robust canines.
At 1 pm on Wednesday, 4-H and FFA members will present their birds in the Poultry Show, located in Clover Hall.
Following the Photo Scavenger Hunt Wednesday is the 4-H and FFA Dog Show, located at the bus barn. The program will start at 5 pm.
Thursday provides members with the opportunity to show their pigs in the Swine Show, located at the show ring at 8 am.
Also in the show ring later in the evening are the 4-H and FFA Horse and Pony Show with the Rabbit Show to follow. Horse and Pony begins at 4 pm and the Rabbit Show starts at 6:30.
The 4-H/FFA Sheep Show will begin Friday morning at 7:30. The Goat Show will follow. Both will be held at the show ring. Beef pen of three judging will be done on the grounds at 9 am.
The Clover Kids will celebrate graduation at Clover Hall on Friday at 5:15 pm. Next up at 5:30 will be the 4-H Fashion Show, where participants can display their efforts in sewing and creating clothes or accessories.
The Fair Queen contest to determine who will represent the county in the Iowa State Fair queen contest will begin at 6:30 pm, also at Clover Hall.
The 4-H/FFA Beef Show highlights Saturday starting at 8 am in the show ring., held at the Showring at 8 am.
A 4-H Horse FUN Show will take place at the show ring later in the day at 2 pm.
Livestock exhibits will remain on display until check-out Sunday at 5:30 pm.
