The Greene County softball team notched another Heart of Iowa Activities Conference win in Collins Wednesday night with a 2-1 victory over the CMB Raider.
Junior Marissa Promes was the winning pitcher. The had 11 strikeouts and no walks and allowed only two hits. The Raiders’ one run was an earned run in the fourth inning. The Ram fielders helped Promes, committing no errors. The Raiders tallied four errors.
Greene County’s runs came in the third and the sixth innings. Junior Emily Christensen hit a single and grabbed an RBI. The Rams’ second run was unearned.
Junior Kayla Mobley hit a double. The Rams’ remaining hits were all singles, with two each for juniors Hannah Onken and Tressa Rasmussen, and one each for Promes, junior Bailey Godwin and sophomore Sydney Koch.
The Rams are 12-2 in the HOIAC, tied for first place with PCM, and 19-5 overall.
