The Rotary pavilion at the Thomas Jefferson Gardens was dedicated Saturday afternoon during the Bell Tower Festival after an inaugural concert there by the Town and Country Band.
Tim Christensen, president of the Jefferson Rotary Club, did the honors. He explained that the project was funded through the Rotary International simplified grant program and proceeds from the club’s annual charity auction. Rotarians Ruth Freeman, Chris Durlam, Don Orris, Jacque Andrew, Gary Von Ahsen and Lisa Jaskey were on the grant writing committee.
Construction of the pavilion was done by Rotary volunteers, with Von Ahsen serving as lead architect and designer. Christensen acknowledged Sam Harding, David Zorychta, John Curnyn, Bob Sondgeroth, Harry Ahrenholtz, Brad and Jacob Bendickson, David Carhill, Hamilton Redi-Mix and Alliant Energy for their participation in the project.
