The Jefferson public library’s teen reading program kicks off tomorrow, June 12, at 2 pm at the library. With a theme of “Spark a Reaction,” activities will be science-related.
Students who have completed grades 5-11 will make naked eggs, ooze, exploding subs, erupting candles and elephant toothpaste in a science lab set up in the library basement. There will also be games and movies for teens.
Programs are planned for every Thursday afternoon from 2 to 4 pm through July. Teens are not expected to come to every Thursday event, but they are encouraged to learn more about science and interact with other teens during the summer. A party will conclude the program in July.
Persons who would like more information can call the library at 515-386-8163.
