Entries in the Yellow Brick Challenge LEGO® brick building contest have already started arriving at Greene Bean Coffee in preparation for this weekend’s Bell Tower Festival. The Yellow Brick Challenge is hosted by Greene Bean Coffee and co-sponsored by GreeneCountyNewsOnline.
LEGO builders of all ages are invited to use the Festival theme Iowa’s Emerald County: There’s no place like home to launch their creative efforts. Entries will be judged in age categories based on creativity, use of the Festival theme, and innovative use of LEGO bricks. Entries must have at least one yellow LEGO brick visible and must not be larger than 24 inches square at the bottom or 48 inches tall.
About a dozen LEGO builders enjoyed a LEGO Build Night at Greene Bean Coffee last Friday. Builders ranged from age 7 to 40-something. A family category in the competition allows multi-age groups to work together on one entry.
Contest entries must be delivered to Greene Bean Coffee this Friday, June 13, before noon. Judging will be done Saturday before 4 pm. First, second and third place prizes will be awarded in each category.
