In a continual effort to best serve the needs of the community, Greene County Medical Center is offering “Iowa Mobile” on Tuesdays and Fridays. Iowa Mobile provides onsite vascular ultrasound studies.
Executive director of outpatient services and clinics Joan Overby said, “Our vascular surgery clinic and Iowa Mobile together can meet the needs of many vascular patients.” Iowa Mobile is available for any vascular patient to have testing done locally, saving both time and travel. Testing done through Iowa Mobile does require a physician order and is scheduled through the medical center’s radiology department.
The medical center’s vascular surgery clinic with vascular surgeon Dr Nick Southard is the fourth Tuesday of every month. Southard provides state-of-the-art diagnosis and treatment for patients with vascular diseases. He is able to offer diagnosis and treatment for a full range of non-cardiac vascular disorders, including conditions of the arteries and veins outside of the heart.
Southard practices with Iowa Clinic in Des Moines and received his medical degree from Des Moines University. He is a member of the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons and the American Osteopathic Association.
Appointments with Dr Southard can be made by calling 515-386-2488. In addition to its vascular surgery clinic, Greene County Medical Center offers specialty outpatient clinics for orthodontia, dermatology, hepatology and plastic surgery with professionals coming from Fort Dodge, Des Moines and West Des Moines on various days each month.
