Stefan Sandberg, NW Lions Club district governor, was a guest at a recent Rippey Lions Club meeting and presented awards to the club and three members. Club president Harlan DeBest (left) accepted a certificate from Sandberg honoring the Lions Club for 70 years as a local organization, with the first meeting in 1944.
In addition to this presentation, he also awarded (from left) a 50 year certificate to Myron Rinker , a 15 year certificate to Chris Roberts and a certificate for 10 years to Randy Vodenik (right).
The local Lions Club is involved in many community projects over the years, including recent work at Osborn Park in Rippey , collecting eye glasses and hearing aids to be provided to those in need, support for Camp Herko Hollow, and assisting with vision screening for children with diabetes.
