Greene County Medical Center will again host “Welcome to Medicare” seminars in 2014, with the first one scheduled for Tuesday, May 6. Persons who are going to be eligible for Medicare in the near future, or have been on Medicare for awhile and want to better understand what it offers, should plan to attend. Those who help family members who are on Medicare may also want to attend.
“Welcome to Medicare” is a two hour seminar offered by Senior Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP) counselors, and will be held Tuesday, May 6, from 6 to 8 pm. The seminar will be held in the medical center cafeteria. Please call Mary Ann Wright at 515-386-2114 to register.
“The two seminars we held in 2013 were very well attended,” says Wright. “Medicare is such an important program and understanding what it offers helps assure that anyone eligible gets the health benefits they deserve.”
“Welcome to Medicare” will cover Medicare Part A and Part B benefits, the prescription drug benefit (Part D), Medicare Advantage plans and Medicare supplement insurance.
SHIIP is a service of the State of Iowa. SHIIP counselors are trained by the state and do not sell or promote any insurance companies, policies or agents. Greene County Medical Center is a local sponsor for SHIIP in Greene County.
