The silent auction at the Relay for Life this Saturday will feature more than 100 items. Pictured with some of the items that have been donated by individuals and local businesses are committee members Sharon Fisher (left) and Rhonda Morlan. These two, as well as Karla Janning and Jane Finch, have served on the silent auction committee together for more than five years, and put in many long hours gathering a variety of donations.
Some of the more unique items in the past have included an autographed football from Iowa head football coach Kirk Ferentz, a bench that was made out of surfboards, a 3 foot tall lighted doll house, and handmade furniture. This year the committee has already received hair products, a gift basket of products made from honey from Bee Mindful, a toy tractor for Rueter’s Red Power, a toy planter from Bauer Built and a generous gift basket from Wild Rose Casino. Donations will range from gift certificates and gift baskets to handmade items.
The Relay for Life silent auction will be open for bidding beginning at 9:30 am on Saturday at the Greene County Community Center. Bids will close at 1:15 pm and high bidders will be announced at 1:30.
