A group of Greene County High School students in Mrs. Rogers’ class took a field trip March 22 to the Iowa state capitol to learn about our state’s history and government. The tour was to last an hour, but because the group was so attentive and asked great questions, it was extended to a two-hour tour. The team then enjoyed lunch at the capitol.
Since the weather was so beautiful, and based on input from Greene County High School history teachers, the team decided to walk to the State Historical Museum. The group enjoyed a scavenger hunt while at the museum. The students also practiced their “Pay It Forward” and “Kindness, Pass It On” skills to many people they encountered.
