Memorial Day will be here before you know it!
All those who tend or decorate graves at the Jefferson Municipal Cemetery or St Joseph Catholic Cemetery are reminded to remove any non-permanent items before the first week in April.
The Jefferson park and recreation department takes care of the cemeteries. Park and recreation director Vicky Lautner explains that now is the time to remove anything not in a permanent planter or attached to a headstone so the city crew can properly prepare the cemeteries for Memorial Day.
Temporary decorations may be placed immediately before Memorial Dan and then removed within two weeks.
