The ceremonial groundbreaking for the Greene County Medical Center addition/renovation project is slated for Thursday at 3 pm, but the very first small part of the project is already finished.
The new construction will be on the east end of the campus, right where the employee parking lot is located. In preparation for tearing up the parking lot, a new employee parking lot as been added behind the building to the north. The primary employee entrance will also be relocated on the north side of the building.
The new emergency department will take up some of the old parking lot space. A big advantage the project will provide will be a more visible, more easily accessible ER. The long and winding road won’t lead to the ER, but to employee parking.
