Whether they’re Irish or Iowa-ish, people who leave holiday baking to someone else will have more time for St Patrick’s Day fun.
Jefferson Telecom will host a St Patrick’s Day bake sale Monday, March 17, from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm in the company showroom at 105 W. Harrison, Jefferson. Proceeds will go bring some of the proverbial “luck o’ the Irish” to cancer patients, survivors, and their families via the American Cancer Society Relay for Life of Greene County.
Items will not be priced but will be available for a donation. Last year generous buyers donated more than $500 in exchange for sweet treats, and organizers are hoping to raise even more this year.
The American Cancer Society provides services to cancer patients and their caregivers, educates the public about cancer, and funds cancer research. It won’t be a leprechaun who will cure cancer, but some Irish luck might help researchers as they work toward a cure for cancer.
The Relay for Life is slated for Saturday, April 26, at the Greene County Community Center. Click on the ad on GreeneCountyNewsOnline for information and to see how your favorite team’s fundraising is going.
