Meeting slated April 13 to organize for county fair
New agility equipment and helping pay for county fair awards were goals for the participants in the Greene County 4-H dog project. To raise funds, the group sold “Best In Show” dog, cat, and horse treats to family and friends in the Greene County community.
Youngsters raised enough money to buy one competition tunnel they’ll use for training at dog agility classes and at the Greene County Fair. The dog project also received additional cash donations and dog treats donations that were given to PAWS for the Greene County animal shelter.
The Greene County 4-H dog project will begin training classes in May. Youngsters who are interested in showing dogs in 4-H at the 2014 Greene County Fair are asked to attend the dog project meeting set for Sunday, April 13, at 3 pm at the Greene County Extension office.
Adult superintendent Melisse Schilling, along with youth superintendents Noelle Gray and Ashley Kuhl, will lead the meeting and help answer any questions.
