Greene County Medical Center launched a new website on Monday, Feb. 10.
A vibrant and interactive website has become an integral part of day-to-day operations for the medical center. Essential information about all services and clinics has always been a priority on the site, but more recent additions like online bill pay, Foundation donations and online job applications have made the site even more important. The new site will also feature the EPIC computer systems and electronic medical records program when it is launched at the end of March 2014.
Community relations director Carla Offenburger noted, “Our website is an integral part of our business. More and more the website is the first look at the medical center and its services for new patients and visitors. It should be crisp and clean looking, but more importantly it has to be adaptable and ever-changing. This new site is capable of both of those things.”
The new site allows visitors to easily access all portions of the site from any device – desktop, laptop, tablet or smartphone. The site allows for new information to be added quickly and efficiently by the medical center’s community relations department. This will prove to be most effective in the coming months when necessary information about the upcoming building project is available online.
The new site was designed by Blue Compass in West Des Moines, and negotiated through the medical center’s partnership with UnityPoint Health. Chief executive officer Carl Behne commented that “with their expertise, we are able to create a website in alignment with current web design trends and navigation trends that is designed to optimize search engine results. This is extremely important when people are searching for local hospital services, specialty care and current information related to Greene County Medical Center.”
The new site can be accessed at www.gcmchealth.com and through the link posted on GreeneCountyNewsOnline.
