The Greene County Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation is hosting the annual banquet and auction on Saturday evening, Feb. 8, in Clover Hall on the Greene County Fairgrounds in Jefferson.
The banquet committee has arranged a large selection of items that will be sold either on the live or silent auctions. A nice array of raffle items and door prizes is also available. Fred Long, treasurer of the group ( pictured, right), holds one of eight guns that will go home with new owners that evening. Steve Cort is shown with the smoker grill and other items, including two cast iron tractor seat bar stools, bronze statues and collapsible storage ottomans in three sizes. There are numerous wildlife prints. The committee is excited about a computer signed Green Bay Packer football that will be sold.
Tickets for the event are available from Long at 515-370-0905 and will be sold at the door. The fun begins at 5:30 p.m. with dinner served at 7 p.m. A special invitation has been issued to members from other counties to join in the festivities for the cost of the catered meal ($15). ~from The Scranton Journal
