Farm Bureau offers Teacher Supplement grants

Application deadline Feb. 12

The Iowa Farm Bureau Federation is again offering Teacher Supplement grants to assist teachers in educating their students about agriculture.

Kindergarten through 12th-grade teachers in Iowa public and private schools may apply for up to $200 for use in classroom programs, from books to field trips to visual aids, videos and a variety of other teaching supplements, which educate young people about agriculture and food production.

This year’s areas of focus are language arts and science.  Teachers in those subject areas who would like to promote agricultural literacy are encouraged to apply for a Teacher Supplement grant.

To apply, visit http://www.iowafarmbureau.com/ and click on the corresponding rotating window.  On-line applications will be accepted until Wednesday, Feb. 12,  and grants will be awarded in March.  Funds will be dispersed once an itemized expenditure report and receipts are submitted.
