The Greene County Ram varsity basketball teams split games against the South Hamilton Hawks in Jewell Tuesday night.
The girls team stretched its record to 5-1 in the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference and is tied for first place with a 60-52 win. The Rams are 5-2 overall.
Scoring was balanced with Hannah Onken scoring 13, Emily Christensen scoring 10, Kayla Mobley scoring nine and Jolee Wessling scoring eight.
“This was a challenge on the road. I thought our girls kept fighting the whole game. We will continue to work on our strengths and weaknesses in practice,” girls head coach Chad Morton said.
The boys lost to a much more experienced team by a score of 71-50. Freshman Trey Tucker led the Rams in scoring with 11 points, although he fouled out with 2:32 left to play in the game.
The Rams are at 1-4 in the HOIAC and overall.
