Several Thanksgiving services are planned around the county.
The annual ecumenical service will be held Sunday, Nov. 24, at 7 pm at Gospel Open Bible Church in Jefferson. Father Jeff Schleisman of St Joseph Catholic Church will give the homily. An offering of canned food items will be accepted for the Greene County Christian Action Resource Center.
In Scranton, a soup supper will be served Sunday, Nov. 24, starting at 5:30 pm at the United Methodist Church. A free will offering will be accepted. The community Thanksgiving service will follow at 7 pm at the church.
On Wednesday, Nov. 27, at 7 pm Father Schleisman will preach again at an ecumenical Thanksgiving service at the United Methodist Church in Grand Junction.
